What faith story are you a part of?

I got thinking about the men and women of the Old Testament, they looked forward to the promise of a Messiah and the arrival of Gods kingdom. they set their faith and hope in such a day. Many of them grew old and died never getting to see that promise, yet what is amazing is that they never took their eyes off the promise!

How about us? For most of us the extent of our faith is trusting God for such small trivial things and if God hasn’t come through in a week or a month with it, we are grumbling, faltering and squirming in the minuteness of our tiny hope.

Personally, i don’t want to be part of things where Its easy and all is in wwcontrol. I would rather endure the sometimes difficult days of small beginnings and big dreams than relish in the comforts of other peoples big ends and finished dreams.. I want to be a part of communities that have not but are asking, seeking and knocking on promises of better things. I want my life story to be a faith story.

I also want to be a part of other peoples faith stories. For example; Choosing a school for our kids was a difficult affair. But when sitting in an interview with the principal from one school i heard faith. The school was last on the list when it comes to facilities, but what a faith story I heard, what vision this principal was trusting God for. Things that were big and impossible for man. And I’m not talking about the weak hopeful faith like; ‘yeah, we trust God will change things…’ I’m talking about confident faith, faith based on scriptures and actions that line up with such words. We signed up, because we want to be part of the school that trusted God for big things and attempted big things for God.

Oh let’s be a generation that trusts God for greater things! Weighty things, things of eternal value, things that will affect our cities and governments, things that are way out of our reach, but never our God’s.
